ROB RION
Midday Host / Production Assistant

In Psalm 150: 6a God’s word states, “let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” From his first audio/visual presentation at a local church, Rob knew he desired to utilize his degree in radio, television and film in a way that would enable him to minister to the world. God has been faithful to allow Rob the privilege of working as a freelance audio/visual producer within conventions and ministries. Rob came to the KCBI family, first as a fill-in announcer. Little did he know he would literally have the opportunity to praise the Lord with every breath over the airwaves daily!

Here's a brief profile of Rob:

Birthdate: February 17th, Corpus Christi, TX

Family: Rob is married to Kandy, his beloved bride of 25 years (he married her upon recommendation of his pastor). They have four children, Emily, 21, Cassidy, 16, Tanner, 12 and Chloe the caboose, 10. We are a homeschooling family and this is our eleventh year to homeschool!

Work History: I began working for my local church, and I started a business, Rion Productions, shortly after graduating from college. I produce audio/video presentations for churches and organizations. I’ve had fun meeting astronauts, actors, comedians, and the best yet, Moses himself (Charlton Heston) in my professional life. However, they cannot compare to my joy in serving and working for the greatest producer ever, the Lord God Almighty. I was blessed to begin work on the airwaves in 2003 thanks to my Worship Pastor sharing my abilities with someone here at KCBI.

Conversion experience: I started my journey with Christ at age 12 at my church’s Vacation Bible School. I’m currently serving as an elder within the body of Christ at my present church.

Favorite scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6 (one of many)

Hobbies/collections: Video production, photography, reading, traveling, spending time with family
