Hope from a Domestic Violence Survivor

October 9, 2016

Hi, My name is Cyndy and I am a survivor of domestic violence and I want you to know that there is hope; there is help. Domestic violence comes in many forms. It is defined as physical abuse, mental abuse, psychological abuse, sexual abuse, and financial abuse. One or more of these is what domestic violence looks like. It is about power and control and it is in no way your fault. and there is hope. When I got away from my abuser this is what happened. God provided for me and my children’s every need. We found support, help, and peace. We had food and shelter every step of the way and we all received counseling to help us overcome the effects of abuse. God provided me with a job, a way to pay for my car, He provided child care, He protected us and restored us and my children and I lived our lives together, in peace. We were able to enjoy life free from the abusive environment we had been subjected to. If you are being abused please contact your local shelter for guidance and help.
