As parents, our main goal of raising our children is that they grow up to be independent, responsible, loving, and respectful members of society that live their lives for Christ. However, there might be one thing that we are doing for our kids that could be hindering that process and that’s simply the fact that we don’t allow our kids to fail. Failure is a key part of life and is the best teaching tool when it comes to growth.
Mark Twain says a quote that I love and it’s this: “Good judgment is the result of experience and experience the result of bad judgment.”
So next time, whenever your kid has a decision to make. Let them handle it on their own to see what they do. They may make the right decision or they may choose the wrong one. But the important thing is that they are learning the power of consequences.
